Following the introduction of the Ergonomy Pack, MECAPLASTIC continues to innovate and develop thermoforming technology by combining ergonomy and flexibility in its new product introductions.

Ergonomic solution : double-pass thermoforming machine

MECAPLASTIC has introduced "double pass" machines into its range of thermoforming equipment.

These machines have double stations for thermoforming, welding and cutting.

The advantages are doubled!

Ergonomy : a tool divided into two smaller tools. This facilitates format changes which can be made quickly and without special equipment. In addition, the weight of all the parts needed to change from format A to format B is under 10 kg ;

Reliability : improved debugging and reliability (and therefore TRS), as well as better control of the film tension ;

Flexibility : 2 different formats on the same machine. Therefore, going from one format to another can be carried out but simply by pressing a key on the screen - WITHOUT REMOVING PARTS

Maintenance : it is possible remove one tool for maintenance without holding up production. The machine can work in single pass mode.

MECAPLASTIC have already delivered and installed two "double pass" thermoforming machines with these features in January 2010.

New transversal cutting system by crushing

This MECAPLASTIC patented cutting system was developed for cuts by crushing on rigid films.

Multiple advantages :
• Operating ergonomy : the setting is automatically controlled pneumatically.
• This therefore allows the machines to be run with films of different thicknesses ;
• Reduced cutting tool wear : the contact pressure between anvil and punch can be easily adjusted. As a result, the cutting tools are subjected to the minimum amount of stress required to make the cut. As the tools wear, the pressure can be increased little-by-little to achieve the correct cut. This increases the punches’ service life by 30% ;
• Less wear of the station's moving parts : the connecting rod assembly raising the station is in the locked
• position when the cutting pressure is generated. The rollers and bearings are therefore not under stress
• when the station is rising. This reduces wear on the equipment’s working parts.

This system has been operating with a number of our customers for several months. Today, all MECAPLASTIC thermoforming machines using cutting by crushing are equipped with this innovative concept.

New transversal cutting system

This cutting system developed by MECAPLASTIC is used for transversal cuts on flexible film and thereby allows them to be activated independently.

The advantages of this are :
• Compactness : all the transversal cuts of the various formats can be made in the same pass, therefore reducing machine length and floor space;
• Ergonomy : a format change in cuts does not require special equipment and the change and is programmed. Therefore, this system allows a significant time saving ;
• Tools less worn : the fact that the tools do not have to be removed avoids any wear that may be caused by handling or storage problems ;
• Flexibility : since this system is installed on one pass, these formats can be easily extended without requiring an extension of the thermoforming machine.
